brightfive’s blue lunch for York Mind

brightfive York Mind

This month York Mind are running their ‘It’s Ok To Be Blue’ campaign. Throughout March, the mental health charity are encouraging people across York to 'do something blue'. It could be anything - dress blue days, cake sales, share a blue song, make something blue -  possibilities abound.

Never the types to shrink from a challenge, we decided to hold a special ‘blue lunch’ to support the campaign.

Now, it’s not actually all that easy finding blue food. Nevertheless, we all rose to the occasion, donning our aprons/hitting Tesco’s on the way to work in the name of charity.  The result: a surprisingly tasty buffet, including a fair chunk of Stilton, blueberry muffins, some ghastly ‘bubblegum pop’ and plenty of sweet treats (laced with food colouring, of course).

We asked everyone to donate roughly the cost of a shop bought lunch and raised £44 for York Mind.

Follow York Mind on Facebook & Twitter to learn more about It’s Ok To Be Blue. Make sure to keep your eyes peeled here on the brightfive blog, as we’ll be posting a special article in support of the campaign later in the month.
